5 Vintage Items to Start Collecting Now

Beginning a new collection is fun but where do you start? Most of my collections have evolved over time when I realized I liked more than one type of something specific. Your collections will happen the same way but here are a few of the things I collect that may inspire you!

VINTAGE BOOKS

I collect vintage books I remember from my childhood such as Nancy Drew. I also collect cookbooks and other colorful books that I include in my decor.

Sunbeam Library Books are adorable and have amazing illustrations. They also make great gifts! Click here for some similar ones I found on eBay.

Some of these children’s book might bring back good memories for you or even be something you want to pass on to your children. Find some good ones by clicking here!

GROOVY FLORALS

Daisies, sunflowers, wildflowers - I love them all! They really add a touch of whimsy and life to any space. Remember when Meg Ryan (You’ve Got Mail) said daisies are the friendliest flower? I must say I agree!

I love this daisy pie plate! I found some similar ones on eBay.

This daisy tablescape is one of my favorites! I’ve linked some DAISY GLASSES and DAISY PLATES for you!

VINTAGE PYREX

Pyrex comes in a lot of different colors but pink and turquoise are probably the most sought-after. I stacked mine here with some pink Hazel Atlas dishes and a Miss Cutie Pie Shaker!

LADY HEAD VASES

I use Lady Head Vases for makeup brushes, plants, and as decor accents. There are so many beautiful designs to choose from and they add a lot of personality!

Here I have paired my Lady Head Vases with two of my favorite Big Eye Girl paintings!

VINTAGE CHRISTMAS DECOR

I remember the satin ornaments and flocked Santas from my grandmother’s house and it brings back great memories of spending Christmas there! So I had to start decorating my own house with vintage Christmas decor. I have a lot of it but here’s a little snippet to get you started!

I created this photo for fun and placed a flocked Santa on my Jadeite Swirl bowl and filled the other Jadeite with Shiny Brite ornaments. I thought it made a festive vignette!
